DANNY: I'm at Daldowie here today at the Scottish Water Treatment Plant and I'm going to be
experiencing first hand going out looking to find a leak in the Scottish water system
here. So I'll be joining one of the Modern Apprentices to follow him round the job he
does and I'm looking forward to it. CHRIS: I'm currently doing a modern apprenticeship
for Scottish Water in leakage. STUART: I decided to the apprenticeship because it was involving
getting an education at college and doing the job at the same time. Once you go learning
at college you can take your knowledge back to work and apply your skills to the job that
you're doing day to day. CHRIS: I found it very good. Everybody's been a great help and
the training and the college course has been excellent. It's a good experience and I've
grew since I came here. DANNY: It was important for me to do this today because it's all part
of Scottish Apprenticeship Week and also it's to get a first hand insight into the apprentices
themselves and the work they do. It really does take a lot of hard work on behalf of
the young people and also the dedication and commitment from Scottish Water as a great
employer. CHRIS: Today Danny helped us detect a burst using a collator. Danny did very well
and I think he'd make a good apprentice for Scottish Water. STUART: He seemed to pick
up on a lot of the things that we do so he done really well. DANNY: Today's been absolutely
brilliant. First class.
