The title of this piece is 'Serenity'.
It was a very tranquil morning
and I had the impulse to paint this
feeling of tranquility and peacefulness.
So, I took my colours and paintbrush and just...
it was a very natural process as if the brush and colours were
moving by themselves.
I didn't have to put thoughts into it,
what colours to mix, how much water to add,
or what type of brush to use.
It all fell into place naturally.
When I applied the brush strokes,
I didn't need to think about how to do it
or what I wanted to sketch.
Nothing at all.
Very naturally, the tranquility and serene feeling
of that morning was captured.
At that time, it was after my healing class
I've attended the Psychology classes.
Probably after all these, I've reconciled with some things
or I might have also let go of certain things.
So, that morning was especially peaceful.
That is what this piece is about,
as simple as that. There isn't much to explain.
It is just that alluring and that simple.
My works are usually very colourful
because I love colours
and would use lots and lots of colours.
But that morning, I didn't have that sort of feeling.
After I was done with the piece,
I left it there and went to work.
It was very early that day.
I came back home from work and thought
should I add more things to it cause it felt like I've not
really completed it. It looked like an incomplete piece of painting.
But after some time, I didn't feel like adding anymore to it
because I feel that it is perfect as it is.
Even though it seems like this piece is incomplete,
at the same time,
it also feels like it already has everything in it.
This piece is very simple. It is just blue
but when you look closer,
you will see that it has a lot of movements.
When you are in a state of serenity,
or when you feel like nothing much is happening,
but in actual fact, there are many unseen things.
A lot of magic or something like that.
It's all actually happening, it's all inside here.
So, in peace, everything is contained inside it.
Sometimes, I feel it is difficult to explain this piece of art.
It's not easy to describe the emotion of that morning
or to add other meaning to this piece
because it doesn't have a specific meaning.
Like I've told you just now,
my presence isn't in this painting.
When I was creating it, I wasn't thinking at all
and none of my thoughts went into it.
Which is why I think this piece turned out to be so pure.
