>> Norm Vaughan: Norm Vaughan here
from Mount Royal University of Calgary, Alberta.
You know, really what defines quality in an online course for me really is the degree
of teaching presence, the idea of a collaboration so that we are co-negotiating the,
the outcomes of the courses, that there really is a discussion.
Thank you for this opportunity.
>> Very good.
Thanks, Norm -
>> Norm Vaughan: Of course, I know you could have gone to [inaudible].

>> Terry Anderson: My name's Terry Anderson.
I'm from Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada.
What I think what defines quality teaching is, is, is innovation, and given the rapid change
in communications and information technology, the capacity for a learner or a teacher
to bring new knowledge to the table that perhaps wasn't even thought
of in the original course outcomes.
I think we, we're, we're really in danger of solidifying on past competencies
that are changing too rapidly to, to be defined unless there's an innovative or a,
that a capacity that is embedded in the course.
