Now we're going to put some of these ideas together in a series of what we call "thumbnails".
This is always a good thing to do before you start a big project, is to figure out what
the best way is to do it. And I've chosen this photograph, I've really been interested
in the trees outside my window, and what the different lines do. So here we have all these
lines. So I'm going to make a series of pictures, there's too much detail in here, and I really
want to start playing with the shape that it makes in here, there's a shape there, there's
a shape here, look at this shape over here. And those are the shapes that excite me that
I want to work with and I want to see how they're going to do if I take them out of
that picture and sort of enlarge it and work just on those. So we're going to take that
one and here we've got a shape here, and then that goes up here, and I've got this here,
so that now I have kind of this here, so I have this "Y" shape of the tree. And I've
got another angle over here that kind of looks interesting to me that I'm going to put in.
I'm going to add this branch here. And then I'm going to try to see what happens when
I put in this second tree, and the second tree also angles like that, so I've got that
going there.
