CHRISTOPHER HOWELL: Hi, my name is Christopher Howell with Expert Village and today, we're
going to talk about military cadences. In a lot of times too--well, actually all the
time, they'll kinda give you a heads up before they call it. They'll say, "Soldiers." or
"Platoon." or something like that and when they say that keyword which you'll have your
own individual keyword; they kinda get your attention and say, "Here. I'm about to make
a call. I'm about to say attention, parade rest or something so listen up." And you're
going to want to listen to that call 'cause if you don't, I can assure you you'll be on
that ground doing some pushups pretty quick. Now, we're going to talk about the run. The
run is also a pace just like I told you with the cadence. You'll get the song going and
it'll be just kinda like the walk but you're running and you're just kinda running normally
and you kinda--you don't have to run like any mechanic or anything, you're just running,
relaxing and all you're doing is having the feet hit the ground. And what the pace does
kinda there, it helps you to set an actual pace so you can breathe and regulate your
breathing which will make it--if you have the regular breathing pattern, so you can
keep going and you won't cramp up or anything like that.
