You’re walking down the sidewalk and you trip and fall on a defect that you didn’t
even see. And you’re wondering, are you entitled to compensation? Hi. My name is Jonathan
Macri and I’m an attorney here with Parker Waichman. And I’m here to tell you that,
yes, you may very well be entitled to compensation for this type of injury. Now the scenario
that I’ve just described to you is something we call “premises liability.” And I’d
like to talk to you a little more about premises liability as I go back to my office to pick
up some paperwork. So premises liability is something that occurs when you’re walking
along and you trip on a defect that a lot of times – more often than not – that
you didn’t see before you tripped on it. Now after you tripped, you probably injured
yourself and you’re wondering what did I just trip on? And who’s responsibility is
it, the defect, that I just tripped on? Now a lot of times, people are never sure of these
answers until after they come visit us. Now you probably have a lot of questions if you’ve
just been involved in a scenario like I’ve just described to you. And I wanted to tell
you if you have any of these questions, give me a call. I deal with these types of cases
every day. And a lot of times what happens is someone will come to me, describe an area
that they fell on, and it’s up to us here at Parker Waichman to do a search for who
owns the part of the property that they may have tripped and fallen on. Now again, these
are things that we do here every day and you’re watching this video probably because something
like this happened to you. So if that’s the case, give me a call. I’d be happy to
answer any questions that you might have about this. Again my name is Jonathan Macri and
most of all, thank you very much for watching.
