It's possible to decorate the mountboard in various ways with the transfers.
I start with the decorations that have to be applied on the corners.
I trace the reference points with a pencil and the square for mountboard.
If you don't know what the square is you can see it better in the video which is called
"The square for mountboard"
I then lower the burnisher on all of the decoration.
This burnisher is provided by Rinaldin but, in case you don't have it, you can use a pen.
It's better if the pen doesn't write so you can control that all the decoration is transferred
on the mountboard
I continue with the other corners
The angular decorations are also suitable for oval and round mountboard.
Let's see an example.
I firstly trace the reference points.
I then pass the burnisher on all of the decoration.
I repeat the operation on all of the corners.
These are the angular decorations provided by Rinaldin.
Let's see another type of transferrable decorations, the floral decorations which can be applied
around the hole of the mountboard
As you can see, the corners are already available for this decoration.
I start therefore to mark the reference points to apply the corners.
I then apply the first corner.
I continue with the other corners.
I now apply the piece of decoration which is missing between the corners.
You will notice that on this point I started exactly where the decoration finished on the
corner, whilst on the part where it joins the other corner there's a slight irregularity,
which however can't be seen.
I continue on the other sides.
This is an example of mixed decoration of both floral motifs and straight lines.
These are the transferrable decorations with floral motifs provided by Rinaldin
The mountboard can also be decorated with other types of transferrable decorations,
such as these.
The problem with these decorations is when trying to position them in the middle of the side
which you want to decorate.
I trace therefore a sign in the middle of each side.
I also trace the reference lines parallel to the hole of the mountboard
I now apply the first decoration.
I then apply the 2 small decorations on the short sides of the hole.
This type of decoration is particularly apt for old photographs.
The photograph which you can see however isn't old.
It's the photo of the Rinaldin staff at the FrameArt Expo fair in Milan.
Rinaldin provides these oriental motifs for this type of transferrable decoration.
You will find all transfers for decorating the mountboard on Rinaldin catalogue and on
the website www.rinaldin.com
