When you move a large refrigerator like this one, sometimes you need a couple of
more inches when you're going inside the entrance way or the doorway. I'm going to show
some simple steps so that you can dismantle your fridge, safely, easily and effectively.
First of, you're going to need a ladder.
Open up your ladder, and place it
right next to your refrigerator
Okay, come up the ladder,
and now we have to take off the actual cap, so that we can get to the hindge of the actual door.
You're gonna need a phillips head screwdriver.
Unscrew the screw.
Once it's undscrewed, take the cap off.
Turn the cap upside down. You're going to want to put this screw
inside of this actual cap, so that we don't lose it.
Okay, so now we've taken the cap off,
now we have the electrical harness which provides power to the actual ice maker,
and also the water in the actual door. I'm gonna get a flat head screw driver.
I'm just going to unpop this harness, and this harness should disconnect very easily, like so.
You have a ground right here, that you need to unscrew.
That is always grounded with the Philips head screw driver.
Make sure that the refrigerator is *unplugged before you do this*
I'm going to put the screw inside the cap again, so that we don't lose the screw.
Now we have the three bolts right here, which we need to disconnect to take the door off.
Ok, so we have three bolts right here. We need to unscrew these bolts,
and when we unscrew them, we're going to take the screws out, and obviously we're going to put these
in the cap as well,
so that we don't lose these screws.
We're going to unscrew every single one of them.
But the last one that we have,
I'm going to leave this intact. I'm just going to unscrew it slightly.
Then I'm going to leave this intact, because we don't want the door to swing out.
Okay, now we're at the bottom of the fridge, and we have a water line that runs all the
way down the door, and it comes into this water line. I'm going to pull this water
line out, so you can see...
This part of the waterline actually runs straight to your main,
and this runs up through your door. So what we want to do is, we want to
disconnect these two, so that we can take this off the door.
The blue plastic part,
and then there's a white plastic part on the outside.
What I want to do is, I want to get my thumb, like so, and I wanna push this white
plastic part, against the blue plastic part. Then I'm going to push the pipe in slightly,
then I'm going to pull the pipe out.
And see how it disconnects easily, like that.
once again with the side. I'm going to push the plastic
into the actual blue plastic,
and then the pipe will come off. You want to save this,
we don't want to break this, and this is going to reattach our waterline
once we put the doors back together in our new location.
Ok, so now we have the door, and the door is ready to come off. I'm going to take this last screw off,
on the top of the refrigerator,
that was holding it off, we left this one on.
I'm going to unscrew this all the way,
Take this, put in my pocket, so I don't lose it.
Put the screwdriver in my pocket.
Now im going to take the refrigerator door out a little bit. Grab around it,
then I'm going to lift it up
and make sure that the water pipe comes out
and then I can place this door down in a safe place.
Okay we have one more hinge on the door.
We need to take these off. We have three bolts,
exactly the same as on the top of the door. We're going to unscrew these,
all three of these.
Last one is right here.
And now I'm going to put all of these in a safe place.
So now, we have the door taken off. You've probably saved about six inches of space.
You take the other door off, exactly the same way. But, you just want to have the power or the water line.
