This audio has been the work of www.acapela-group.com. As this is not my real voice, I will use this
to cover my person and remain anonymous... moving on. Hello, world. This is N. A topic
that has just met my ears is racism and the speaking of race. Why has this topic interested
me? I cannot say, as this has only been asked of me recently. I have been asked about this
on my website, which you can get the link to in the description below.I have been asked,
"Is it true that racism is normal?" My response is, "Yes." That is true. Prejudice is a negative
attitude towards members of a group, usually being stereotypical beliefs and a tendency
to discriminate against members of the group. Prejudice can be based upon a number of factors
including sex race *** orientations nationality and religion. The prejudice most spoken of,
is racism. When prejudice happens, stereotyping and discrimination will also result. According
to psychologist Gordon Allport, prejudice and stereotypes emerge in part as a result
of normal human thinking. In order to understand the world around us, the human mind sorts
information into mental categories. Allport explains, "Once formed, categories are basis
for normal prejudgment. We cannot possibly avoid this process. Orderly living depends
on it." Reasearchers have found that usually, people tend to make exaggerations in the differences
between groups. An experiment has been made with pictures of men and women. Each person
was the same height in each picture. These pictures were shown to the participants, who
had to guess who was taller. Participants constantly rated men as being a few inches
taller than the women. Because of their prejudgement that men are taller than women, the participants
were unable to dismiss their categorical beliefs about men and women in order to judge the
hieghts accuratley. Based on this experiment, I know that, because we humans hear negative
judgements about people, we cannot avoid automatically thinking of those prejudgements so we end
up speaking and thinking negatively. Racism does and always will exist. Nothing will change
that. This is my view. If you have questions, ask either on my Facebook page or on my official
website Links are shown in the description. The internet empowers you. This is N. You
will hear from me soon.
