1A - Electro-Rejection Green Triangle Dragonmoon tutorial. MONTH-★-TUT program Sep. 2013
Step 1: 1.5 mount
Step 2(important): Swing the yoyo slightly backwards to the left (or your non throw hand direction), aiming about 5cm above the string. Meanwhile curl your TH(throwhand) forefinger to prevent string from slipping off. It is suggested that you should try to aim AFTER you get the 'rejection slack's shape.
By using the spin of the yoyo, when the yoyo is moved backwards the string should be able to reject to form a loop.
The hard part of the trick is controlling the speed of the rejected string's movement. Needs some practice.
The string's movement is clockwise when look from the right. When you're familiar with the movement, try to aim so that the yoyo will fall on the rejected string when it moves a full round, so that a triangle is formed.
Then hop it out from inside and swing the yoyo to the left. Shouldn't leave anything on your NTH(non-throwhand) finger.
The movement of the trick can be decomposed to: The yoyo moves up to reject the string out; then it drop on to the string that is moving (rejected string); after it lands remove the excessive string on TH to form a GT. After familiar with it, gradually shorten the pause between steps 2 and 3.
After you are familiar with everything, it's time to try double the string movement (as shown at the beginning). The speed of the rejected string depends on the spin, the instant speed of yoyo when the string is rejected and the angle at rejection.
Personal experience: if the the yoyo is closer to the string comparing to your body, the movement of string will not appear as big and rejection becomes harder, but the string will move faster, so even tripling is possible...
Due to that the force applied is different, it is suggested that you try more round AFTER you've mastered the single rejection triangle. P.S. even with triple-rejection, when you hop yoyo backwards to get rid of triangles there is no excessive string left either :)
This trick is not quite risky. So here's the alternative plan for several possible mistake, just for reference.
1. Land on the other string (and the rejected string moves onto the yoyo): cross one of your hand to the other side underneath the yoyo (which hand doesn't really matter), then observes how the green triangle is so you can hop it out.
Note: if the rejected string doesn't cover (or go over) the yoyo, just let go then it will be fine (because what you really land is a trapeze).
2. If the yoyo drops into the loop instead of land on the string, it will have a knot if you just let it go. To get rid of it twist the string on your NTH anticlockwise once (clockwise if your NTH is right hand) then pop the yoyo out of the loop.
When doing the rejection with double round, twist the string twice, and so on. After the yoyo is popped out of the knot, let go of your NTH ASAP to prevent the string tangling on your finger.
Thanks for watching! Next tutorial (5A) coming out 1st. Oct
