So one of the common mistakes people experience while bringing the front side fifty-fifty
grind to other types of rails, is that every rails is going to be a little bit different.
So, you're going to have to learn how that rail is going to grind. Sometimes, if the
thicker one like this one, you're going to notice that you're under the influence of
the speed of the grind. Now, it's a lot different than a ledge, because when your grinding the
ledge you tend to have your weight on top of it and it's actually under the influence
of the rolling of your wheels and the truck. But now you've brought it to a round bar,
so you're totally under the influence of how fast and how your trucks grind. So, one of
the common mistakes people find is that when they ollie on it they have trouble getting
off, and it ends up keeping them on. One thing that you're going to want to remember with
grinding a rail, is that getting completely on top is going to help you be able to get
off. If your board is a little bit like this, it may be hard for you to ollie off, although
you can make it, but the desired way to grind would be to get on top, and to come off. So
a lot of times you'll find that you need to test out the different surfaces, and make
sure that they grind the way that you expect them to be, and know what's going to happen.
