Ahoy thar, Legion! Today we are going to be tackling the Orokin Void Tier 1 Defense mission!
You might also notice I'm sporting an Ogris! I've had this bad boy built and waiting to
be claimed in the Foundry for months! It costs a lot of time to build along with some rare
items and of all things a Forma so to use it does not come lightly. Free to players
out there know all too well how limited weapon and Warframe slots are.
The costs to make this guy are quite high, so if it doesn't impress it has to go. On
the other hand if it rocks that is another weapon slot eaten that you can't use anymore.
Luckily I can say it doesn't matter how many slots you have because this sucker is amazing.
If you want to feel like a king for a day equip even an unranked version and go to a
low level survival mission. Equip a snack or beverage of your choice in one hand and
massacre everything with your other. Repeat!
I don't even have this thing max rank yet and it is chewing up many targets in one hit.
There is an oddity to it though, you have to charge the blast before firing, and if
for whatever reason you stop charging it due to letting go of the button, getting staggered,
rolling, vaulting over that thing you didn't want to but they hard-coded it into the game
so you have no direct control over it and it really ticks you off but you can't do anything
about it--
If the charge is broken early you are actually locked out of recharging it for a short time.
Add in reloading and self-inflicted blast damage and it can get equally annoying and
life-threatening as the enemies don't all shout out "CAR!" and move the hockey goals
out of the street until you are ready and able to continue. And even if they did, Corpus
wouldn't.
Yo, Alad!
It's called the buddy system!
That aside, the Ogris is a snot-stomping Grineer-grinding, Corpus-crushing infested-infesting weapon
of awesome. I was always a fan of single shot weapons, explosions, and fire, and thankfully
this weapon is worth it's weight in Platinum to be permanently added to my arsenal.
Back to the carnage going on in the background, I am also quite pleased with the Orokin Void's
Defense missions. In this case it is only Tier 1 so anyone can take a stab at it. Don't
go in solo unless you can handle large packs, but don't worry about it too much because
if you quit or even fail the mission it doesn't consume your key, that gets refunded back
to you.
General things that require keys in Warframe are best handled in groups, one to lower difficulty,
but mainly because it takes one key to open the zone for the entire party. For example,
you just completed wave one million and five with your friends and got a void key. Four
keys were given out, so four keys can be used one at a time. Each time will allow everyone
to join in, so you just quadrupled the amount of missions you got from one reward. Single
players will lose out on that, but as we said way back from the first Quick start guide:
Just keep playing.
You'll continue hording keys passively, but always try your clan or alliance if you'd
like to fill up the roster.
In closing, the Ogris rocks, and the void defense missions are impressive! I'd much
rather do void defense than normal defense missions now due to the level design alone.
But now why don't you guys go out there and give it a try and tell me what you think of
it!
Thank you for watching, Legion. If you missed our earlier quick-start guides we have them
displayed here for all your clicking glory. Part one was a primer to get you up and running
without worry, part 2 was a look at how to set up mods and crafting in the foundry, part
3 was where to find the starter Warframes you can craft, and part 4 was how to kill
each of those bosses for the Warframe parts to craft them in the first place.
Catch you next time, Legion!
Take care!
