Hi! I'm Jennifer Kimball and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how
to organize and maintain your book collection. Sometimes you might have a book that just
doesn't work quite as well on a bookshelf as it does displayed on its own. For instance,
if you have a large atlas that you want to have displayed. This is something that you're
probably going to want to have outside of your library, or put on its own in a special
way. For something like an atlas or perhaps a really big dictionary, you can have a bookstand,
or you can have it be out and open at all times. Another type of book which you might
want to have out are art books. These are a lot of fun to have out on your coffee table
or on a side table. There's something that you wouldn’t necessarily sit down for long
periods of time, but they're fun to flip through. You can also have other types of illustrated
books. Usually they're known as coffee table books because you have them on your coffee
table. These are things in which you would want to have displayed out and about in your
living space rather than just put away on a shelf. When you're organizing your books,
this is something to keep in the back of your mind where you want to display your picture
books, your coffee table books, your ones that you want to be able to access at all
times and have ready.
