Hi, for this tutorial I just wanted to show you very quickly
how you can switch between scenes in Anime Studio Debut.
I start out with the blank
file here, and for the purpose
of showing you this quickly we're going to steal
a couple scenes from the library - some "canned" backgrounds
All right, this
icon to the right --
I've already has opened, but it's under the "scenes" folder
/ backgrounds / forest 1 / and / forest 2.
Okay, click that, and choose ADD TO SCENE button
and then click on forest 2
and again ADD TO SCENE button. Now
close the library.
Let me collapse these folders so we can see this better
And I'll go and get rid of this layer that
came with the blank file.
I'll go ahead drag Forest 2 below
Forest 1. Now, if you
choose
forest one... actually let me
make that folder invisible just for now, there
under Forest 2. You can see
that some of that scene is showing
behind there. It's not going to be a problem
We'll leave both visible right from frame 0.
And the first thing that we need to do
is double click on
this folder for forest 2 and here
where you see the word visible, you want to UNCHECK that
and click Okay.
Now as you can see, you're not seeing part that scene anymore
there in the background and you've got this
discoloration (pink color) here in your time line.
For the time being, everything in the forest 2 folder
will not render, it will not appear
in your animation.
Now let's say that our animation starts out here. We've got our
characters doing whatever they're doing
throughout say... let me drag this over to
frame 60.
At frame 60 is when we are going to switch scenes.
So, on Forest 1
which has been visible all the while, I'll double-click
we get the layer setting dialog box and
We'll UNCHECK visible here, Click OKAY.
Now from frame 60 on, the
Forest 1folder contents are no longer visible.
We'll go back here to Forest 2 and double-click
and we WILL make this one visible
starting at frame 60.
So what happens is that if we go back
back to zero
and drag this scrub along, we're seeing the contents of Forest 1
up to frame 60 and then it switches.
Then you've got whatever animation going on within that
new background
until whatever
frame.... here... 120.
Then again, you can flip these.
Double click on forest 2 and let's
make that INVISIBLE.
Double click forest one and make it VISIBLE
from that frame forward.
Now if I go all the way back to the very beginning...
Test this - click my play button...
Cruising along to frame 60, it switches scenes
and then again at frame 120 and so on.
So you can see how this is really going to be to your advantage to
obviously know how to do this. Email me if you have questions!
