Interviewer: Welcome sports fans. This is the Broadmoor Hotel; rather
splendid. This was built by the same guy who founded the Pikes
Peak many hundreds of years ago. With me, this right here, Greg
Tracy. Greg's driving one of the Mitsubishis this year, one of
the EVs. He is a 6-time winner here on the mountain on a bike,
switching to cars. He's got all sorts of wonderful things on his
CV. One of them, actually, tell us about this, Greg: An X Games
double loop. Just quickly tell us about that.
Greg: Hot Wheels Loop; it was last year's X Games. It's actually 1 year ago
tomorrow that we broke the world record for world's tallest
loop; nearly 70 feet high. No wires, nothing holding the car.
You either made it or you died. Those were the options.
Interviewer: Did you did you have to beat Ken Block to get that or is
Greg: Actually, Tanner Foust and I were the ones that raced into it. I beat
him off line because I jumped the start intentionally so I could
be in the front of him through there. That was a pretty amazing
thing to be a part of.
Interviewer: We got 10 questions here for you. We're going to see how
quickly you can batter through them.
Greg: Let's go for it.
Interviewer: Here we go. First up, how's the car?
Greg: Car's fantastic.
Interviewer: Can it get quicker?
Greg: Probably.
Interviewer: Can you beat Tajima?
Greg: Yes.
Interviewer: Can you beat Loeb?
Greg: Yes.
Interviewer: How does Pikes Peak compare to the Baja 1000? Is it more
fun here?
Greg: It's shorter and you can walk when you're finished, as opposed to
Baja where you can't walk and your arms don't work anymore for a
couple of weeks. I couldn't pick up my beer for almost 2 weeks.
Interviewer: Would you rather drive up or ride up?
Greg: I would rather drive up at this point.
Interviewer: Gravel or tarmac?
Greg: Tarmac.
Interviewer: Millen or Tajima?
Greg: Millen.
Interviewer: If you could ride here or the other Isle of Man TT, which
would it be?
Greg: That's a toss-up. I'd have to think about that.
Interviewer: Come back to us. Will an EV ever win this thing?
Greg: Yes, for sure.
Interviewer: That's not bad. That must have been about a minute. That
was a pretty fast game.
Greg: Good.
Interviewer: Thank you very much, Greg.
Greg: Appreciate it.
