In this clip we're going to attach the sleeves to the unitard and thereby finish the unitard.
I have the unitard, the body of the unitard turned inside out. And this is the hole for
the sleeve. I take the sleeve itself and I insert it into the hole. And first I'm going
to double check to make sure the circumference of the sleeve is equal to the circumference
of the hole, just to make sure. And that way I know if I have to stretch the material.
It fits really nicely here. And also, I want to take the seam of the sleeve, there's only
one seam on the sleeve, and line it up with the bottom. See there's the seam, see? The
bottom of the hole, which would be in the armpits. So you don't see that seam as you
wear the unitard. And then I'm just simply going to run around that circle. And that
sleeve will be attached. So I go back to my surger where I attach all the, where I assemble
the unitard. Double check to make sure they're lined up. Now with a surger, you have to be
careful. There's a knife on the surger and you don't want the surger to cut things that
aren't supposed to be cut. So you have to make sure the surger, all the material is
pulled away from the knife except for where you want to cut. Go around the one circle
and this sleeve will be attached. A final surger stitch on there. You'll notice I have
to pull it a little bit tighter in order to line up. I run to the last seam here. And
I have the right sleeve attached, I cut my thread with the surger knife, and I repeat
the process one more time with the left sleeve. And here's my new unitard. I could be a super
hero, a racer in an Olympic race, or a swimmer, or a statue. In fact, this Saturday, I'm going
to be a robot. What do you think?
