The Affco Union representatives were meant to meet with the heads
of Affco/Talley's this afternoon, but it was not to be.
What's next for the two groups?
Here's Potaka Maipi.
Loud support continues, and not only from the trucks.
Union workers are on strike to support those locked out.
The question is is this helping?
What has not helped
is the breakdown of mediation between the union and Talley's.
They were supposed to meet today, but it did not happen.
But the CEO of Affco, Hamish Simson,
said they are still keen to meet with the union.
Workers have been locked out for far too long.
The time has come for Talley's and the workers
to get together and talk.
Talley's has yet to heed the requests of their workers.
Next week, the union is taking legal action against the 1000-man lockout.
Potaka Maipi, Te Karere.
