Now, we're going to talk about the adjustments and the importance of the adjustment on the
temple piece and how they fit a child. Ok. What we have here again, is a metal frame.
And, there are two ways to adjust a temple. First, is to bend the temple in. If the temple
is too loose on a child, again it's going to fall off and not hold to the child's head.
So, this is typical, bending a frame like this is typical to do. Because, no one frame
is going to fit perfectly. So, we make these adjustments. You bend the temple in to make
it more snug. And, what I'm using here is kind of like a pliers. But, it has a pad on
the side of it so you don't scratch up the frame. So, you can bend these in to make them
tighter and snugger to the child's head. I'm also bending the before the hinge, you don't
want to bend after the hinge. Obviously, you're not going to move it at all. And, you want
to be very careful. Because, you don't want to break this part off. So, I would suggest
bringing this into an optician. But, again this adjustment should be done before the
sale is made. And, we want to make sure they fit the child. The other way to manipulate
this frame, I'll put this down, is to bend the temple tips. This is a plastic piece that
has a cover over the metal portion of the temple. And, you can bend this in so that
they wrap around the ears. And, I'll show you illustrate on myself. You want there to
be a wrap. My glasses actually come in a little bit on the short side. But, for a child you
would prefer to have these wrapped all probably around the ear here so they feel a little
bit more snug. You don't want them to wind up being too tight. Because, then they're
going to wind up being uncomfortable. So, you have to listen to your child. If they
say that the glasses are too tight, then they can be loosened. But, typically you want to
have some tension until the glasses just aren't falling off their face. Kids are more rambunctious.
They're more active typically than adults. So, they can be more prone to having to having
their glasses fly off their face during recess play, anything. So, those are the two things
that you want to adjust. You want to bring the temple tension in as much as it's comfortable.
And, wrap the temple tips so that they don't fall off. As long as it's comfortable for
the child.
