Hi MusicOff! Here's a new video-test
of another 100% italian products!
Today we're taking a look
at the Jad&Freer Toro Drive
a very transparent od box
able to produce some badass classic rock tones
from dirty blues sounds to an hard rock cranked overdrive.
Let's start with a clean test.
We have rolled the gain all the way down and set the Eq flat
the character of the instrument remain unchanged.
Then we'll increase the gain by little steps.
As you heard, the sound of the instrument remain unaltered with the gain rolled all the way back
as a slightly boosted sound
at the same time the gain *** allows a wide range of overdriven tones.
Usually Od Pedals at high amounts of gain
tend to compress the signal
the Toro Drive, instead, steady increase the gain
without adding unwanted compression to your sound.
Now we've switched to a G&L with single coils
to show you how the EQ knobs work, the Bass one, in particular.
Starting from a clean sound we'll increase the bass amount
to hear how rich and mellow a single coil sound can get.
Then we'll roll the bass *** all the way back to hear what happens.
This is our clean sound.
Tweaking the bass control we can reach a very creamy tone
even playing on the bridge pickup of a Strat.
That's really usefull
when we need a fat and mellow sound without changing guitar.
Obviously we can also refine our sound in reverse
and cut a little of those frequencies that sometimes bother our bass players too.
Now we're going to mess around with the treble control
while I play a short solo part, so you can hear how the treble control works.
A Stratocaster kind of guitar it's brighter than the other ones
especially if it's built with maple wood like this one.
The Toro Drive sounds great at high gain settings
but also when you roll the gain back a little
for a bright opened Rolling Stones kind of sound.
Another great feature on the EQ knobs, it's a locking spot at noon
that lets easily set the pedal on a flat mode.
To make the most of the pedals, rolling back the gain in flat EQ mode,
you can use the Toro Drive as great clean boost.
The Toro Drive it's a really good sounding pedal
especially for its affordable price.
We suggest to try the Toro Drive, maybe combining it with a delay or a chorus.
It's time to end. See you soon, always on MusicOff.com!
