Hi I'm HP and I'm gonna tell you about some music that you didn't know
you were missing... because that's what I do.
I've been excited about this artists for a while and I've been kind of
saving him for when I had time to cover a few things
I had to take care of a few prerequisite things
before I could talk about his music and when I was younger
I listened to a lot of R&B. I really enjoyed it but
since then I feel like the whole genre has kind of
gotten nasty as far as the lyrics and things go
like, okay make a song about sex
that's fine but I don't want to hear all your details and
I don't wanna hear you degrade your woman
through a mutual friend, this artist found
me on facebook and sent me some links
and I am not gonna lie to you, when he sent me those
links, I cringed. I was like "No, please
no, not another hip-hop guy, please, please.
no, tell me he sings opera, or something."
because I had listened to several
hip-hop artists that day, but they were all really not something
that I enjoyed. Let's put it that way. I didn't feel like their music
was quality, I felt like their lyrics were awful
and their beats weren't even that good. So I was really kind of
extra down on the genre that day
and I was like, "I should just save this tomorrow cause I know
I'm gonna hate it and I don't think I have any advice for hip-hop artists
left in me. But I had a few minutes, I had to get ready to go
somewhere, and I thought, "Well, I'll just listen to it while I'm
gettin ready and it'll be no time wasted. And if I hate it I'll just wait until
tomorrow to listen to it again
and respond to him and let him know HOW his music
sucks." I listened to it, and I'm like, "Wa- wait
just a minute. What the hell is this?! What the hell is this?!
no, there is no way I haven't
heard good R&B since the early 2000's what the hell is this?"
it's magic that's what it is! its magic!
I was so impressed
I mean, listen, even when I find artists that I like
I usually find one- something wrong with
what they're doing. I listened to that song and (jibberish)
magic Wow where the hell did this come from?
where the hell is came from was two hours away from me
which is even more amazing to me because I'm basically in between Nashville and Chattanooga
In Nashville, you got: country. In Chattanooga, you got:
bad rap. And I'm not saying all
of the music that comes out of Nashville is country or all
of the music that comes out of Chattanooga is bad rap,
I'm saying that's the bulk of it coming out of those two cities.
and so when I hear local artists, it's usually one of the two.
that is why I was really not at all excited to
listen to this guy. But, I did and I was
kind of stupified for a few minutes and then I was like, "we-well, what
what was, what was wrong with that track?" And I thought about it
and I couldn't think of anything that was wrong with it.
and I was like, "Well, that was just the first listen."
so listened to it again and instead of looking for something wrong I found myself
actually just enjoying the music. Again, the end song came and I was
like, "Well the worst part is this song so far is that
it's over that's the only
thing that I found wrong with it." Which is
actually not a bad thing. So, I listened to it again and I put on my critical
ears and I listened really hard in m-
by the way, making me late for when I was trying to get to
I did NOT find a single thing wrong with this song.
it was all just perfect!
his name is Jay Mont. Right now he's working on
a new solo album and a group project
mixtape-type thing with the
No Dayz Off group, which is something
that he participates in. You can find any of those guys by going to his
links. And I'm also going to include them in
the review that I write about this episode of TBMYDKYWM
I'm going to talk about them more in that
But I really just wanted to kind of dedicate this video to
his music because I know more about it and I've heard more of it
and I really enjoyed it. No insult to anybody else,
but this dude is on it. He's
working on every day he's
on top of it. he's got a great work ethic.
which I think is amazing. Also he did post that he's
looking for collaborations so if you're in the Chattanooga area
and you do that kind of music then,
he does not have a Twitter
although he should get one. Soundcloud is
really the best place to find his music. He also
tells me that he performs live every
Friday. I cannot remember the name the place but it'll be
the name right but that I have read them will be in the box wonder
down there up
let me know what you think any any music links
on Twitter or faith are
my email or in the comments below
I don't yes smoke signals every time he said so
maybe this week trap
online blows on
worst I can't help it you're sending them to me
but Ikea read what they are and I really hope that you have enjoyed
this got something out of it %um
any artists throwing music library to make you debt
forcing falsely
