Hello, it's Ben from Regen Media and in this quick-tip I want to show you that there's
normally more than one way to make an audio edit and I'll show you what I mean.
First of all we'll listen to the audio we're going to edit. "But they didn't know how to
ask for it. They didn't, they really didn't have a sense of what energy efficiency was."
So you notice there was a stumble there. We'll go back and I'll zoom in a little bit
and we'll make an edit in between these two 'theys'. So that's about right.
And then have a listen back to it. "To ask for it. They really didn't have. They didn't know how to ask for it.
They really didn't have a sense . . . "
So it's definitely better but the point of this tutorial is to show you that there's
no one way of doing it. Let's do it a different way and let's save that first 'they' so we could
do this, we could do the edit afterwards, because of course these edits can be anywhere
on the timeline. Have a listen back to that.
"Ask for it. They really didn't have a sense of what . . . "
Is it any better? I'm not sure. Are there any other ways? Well there are always other
options. You've just got to spot them so . . .
"They didn't. They really didn't . . . "
She says didn't twice. Maybe we could do it at the front of this 'didn't' here. So go didn't to didn't, if that
makes sense. Let's have a listen.
"They didn't have a . . . "
That might be better. "To ask for it. They didn't have a sense of what . . . "
But the one final way I'll show you is what about if we went in the middle of the words, so it
sounded quite good then but how about we go from the middle of one didn't to the middle
of another?
"Have a sense of what energy efficiency was. How to ask for it. They didn't have a sense
of what energy efficiency was."
So would you actually know that there's an edit was there? The point of this tutorial was really to show you
that you've sometimes got to think your way around an edit if you want it to sound as
good as possible.
So hopefully that's been helpful for you and remember we always have lots of tutorials
on the YouTube channel so please sign up.
