Welcome to This Week At U"BBC"
for the week of September 9th to 15th with your hosts:
Sarah Chow
Liam Watson
and Chris Fernandez
Former Vancouver mayor, Sam Sullivan
hosts another season of salons
featuring short presentations by some of Vancouver's leaders and thinkers
on ideas they think you should know about
Green College is offering a set of complementary tickets
for information to get your hands on one of those, check out the link below
Thanks Chris! I'm here at the Student Rec Centre where they're promoting healthy choices
by offering the first week of instructional classes for free
so that includes martial arts, yoga, dance, pilates, and many more
so here's your chance to try out a new activity
come out to Shopping Week between Sept. 10th to Sept. 16th
Back to you, Chris!
Thanks a lot for that, Sarah.
Now our next top story, the UBC Homecoming Football...
Hang on a second, Liam Watson is outside the SUB right now...Liam, what's going on?
Thanks Chris. I'm here, on location, at the North side of the SUB
where there will be free noon hour concerts from Sept 10th - 13th
What's that? Yes, I have arrived a little bit early...
but the stage looks nice, and the weather is nice, and there's a nice water bottle there too
you can just smell the anticipation, it's going to be a fantastic show
be sure to check it out, and if you can't CiTR will be broadcasting it live.
Back to you, Chris.
Our top story tonight, UBC Thunderbirds go head to head with their rivals University of Saskatchewan
in a Homecoming game featuring music, games, festivities, and a bbq.
To make it even more special, we're honouring legendary UBC coach Frank Smith
and his induction into the UBC Sports Hall of Fame.
It should be a fantastic match with UBC's Thunderbirds
hoping to take advantage of Saskatchewan's weak corner defences
being able to push through the keeper and being able to get the ball
in the net
Uhhh, Chris?
Yup?
It's not this kind of football (points to soccer ball)
Ya, it's actually THIS type of football (points to football)
Well, if football is soccer, that's the word...
