-Do it.
-Hey guys.
This is Versatile from VST Power.
So this is actually part two of a two-part video tutorial
series.
In part one, I showed you how to use
USB HD to rip your games to a USB hard drive.
And this is part two, where I show you
the proof of what we did in part one.
There are going to be a lot of good times, so let's do this.
So here's my PS2 Slim down there.
I have donned a tape, straw, and tissue mod.
See my modding video if you don't
know to do that for your PS2 Slim.
I have the USB hard drive connected.
And I have the lid open, because some people
don't believe that what you're going to see today is real.
So let's go back to the Free McBoot.
And let's go to OPL version 0.9 and press X.
And it's going to momentarily load into the program.
So I'll show you how to do this.
One trick if you're using OPL version 0.9
is to disable the notification about defragging
the hard drive of fragmented games.
So click Start, or press Start.
Go to Settings, press X. Go down to where it says Check
USB Game Fragmentation.
Make sure it says Off.
Because if you leave it as On, then when
you try to play a game, it might stop you from playing the game,
or start the game, which sort of sucks.
Let's save the changes, press circle, and press circle again.
So that's press X on Start Device.
Here's a list the games I have.
Some of these games work, some of them don't.
But I do know that "Mortal Kombat Armageddon" does work.
So let's press X and run it like it is.
So what's going to happen next is
you'll see a bunch of flashing colors.
That's OK.
Now sometimes, you might have a game
where it freezes on a particular color.
Try defragging the game.
If it still doesn't work, then I might be just a USB game
compatibility issue.
So go ahead and try a different game.
If you have a PS2 Slim, you could
try playing the same game off the network
through the SMB connection.
Or you could patch your disc using ESR patch
and play it that way.
Or you could just bring your game play
with Swap Magic, that's another way of doing it.
So there's a lot of different ways to get to the end result.
I love it.
It's awesome to be a PS2 boss.
So let's go ahead and skip through some of these intros,
if I can.
And what I'm going to do is I'm going
to select a really quick match here,
just to show you the performance of how the game is
and everything.
OK, that's fine.
And if I look down to my PS2, look.
There's no disc.
It's actually playing off the USB hard drive.
So here's in-game video.
We see it as lagging a little bit.
That's OK.
You know, it is USB 1.1.
If you try it over SMB, it might be a little bit quicker
actually.
So let's press Start, skip a lot of these in-game movies.
But the actual gameplay inside the game is flawless.
So let's go to Combat, let's go to Arcade.
Let's pick some iconic character like Sub-Zero or Scorpion.
Let's see.
Oh my God, there's a lot of characters here.
So let's go something old school, Sub-Zero.
That's fine.
And why do you want to do the USB route?
Because it saves your laser.
That's the most important number one
benefit of why you want to do this-- because you don't have
to use your laser, and your PS2 theoretically
has just lived 1,000 times longer now.
So let's try the first match here.
I'm just going to show you, prove that yeah,
this does work.
There's no lag.
The in-game sequences are fine.
So you're playing a fighting game, a racing game,
whatever game you decide to do, be comforted that, yeah, it
can work if your game is compatible.
And you're going to be like the PS2 king or PS2
queen of your neighborhood, of your basement,
of your workplace, wherever you're
playing your PS2 these days.
All right, so let's jump around here.
See if I can do any moves here.
Now, I haven't really played this game too much.
I don't know every single move.
Yeah, you could press Start and take a look at the combo list.
But you know, I don't want to waste
your time or my time trying to learn how to play this game.
But we can clearly see that the game works out fine.
And if you have this game, great.
You too can rip it to your USB hard drive
and start playing too.
So if you like this type of video,
please Like, Favorite, and Subscribe
so that hopefully one day we can get
to the front page of YouTube.
Otherwise, if you've got any nitpicking,
you want to just leave a comment here on the YouTube page.
And I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Once again, thank you for watching.
Take care.
Bye.
