There are a lot of opportunities that PA Cyber has
to meet new people and go out
and do a whole bunch of different activities.
We've done some things through the Family Link,
and we've gone on some field trips
where I've met a lot of really nice people.
It has brought on new friends to me, PA Cyber has,
through a bunch of field trips and activities.
Through the activities that PA Cyber has --
They have the Family Link program.
So we try to go on some field trips
where they get to meet the people in the local area.
They have some physical activities, too,
like bowling or canoeing.
They do --
One of the things that we liked about Cyber
is that it does give them the time to volunteer,
to, you know, give back to the community a little bit.
But there's so much out there for kids to socialize,
and I think that my kids have a good balance of that,
of their education and their socialization.
Luc's a very social, social character,
and so he has no problem, you know,
putting himself in a situation
and getting to know everybody that's there
and, you know, kind of going with it.
And he's not lost out on that I think at all with PA Cyber.
LUC: In life, you have to go out and meet new people
and make new friends and stuff,
and I find that, I mean, with cyber school,
I find myself doing that quite often.
And, frankly, in the real world,
that's a big part of succeeding,
you know, just putting yourself out there
and meeting new people.
Well, the friends, I think,
that the students in a cyber situation can have
are friends with whom they have much in common,
and those are deep friendships that last.
Friendship and relationships are not an issue.
I think the school provides a wealth of social activities.
It's basically for the parent and the children.
You can participate in as much as you want to
or as little as you want to.
There's a misconception
that kids don't get enough socialization
in a home-educated environment.
Between the mixture of the cyber-school activities
and just normal activities
the families participate in with their community,
their kids are not lacking in things to do
and socialization with other kids.
It's definitely there.
Yes, I definitely feel like a happy, well-adjusted kid.
I think I socialize just as well as anybody else
of my friends that are in traditional schools.
