Hey guys, we're going to go through the whole TISC process today. So it's gonna take a little
while but it'll just be really good just to help you out. Either if you're watching this
along side actually doing your own TISC preferences or you're just gonna watch this as a guide
before you do those so you just so you know what to expect.
So first off we'll get started - put in your TISC number there and your password so I've
already got my TISC number so you can watch the other video I've made on how to register
through TISC if you don't have one of those. But since we do, put in that and put in your
password and log in.
And then you'll see the welcome screen here and really it's just following all the next
set of steps. You can see all of them on this panel here. So there's quite a few things
to do. So really just take that time going through these.
So first off we'll go Next. Applying Online. The most important thing here is really looking
at this and it just says that your application will not be processed by TISC, by TISC, until
you've answered all required questions, made the declaration and your payment has been confirmed.
Payment is the most important thing here cause that, you have to pay them before they can
process it. So make sure you've got either like your parents credit card details or something
so you can pay online. So we'll go Next.
So we'll fill all of these questions in and how I'll do it is basically more from the
perspective of being a current year 12 high school student. So I'll be like a high school
leaver coming to university at the start of next year.
So I'll fill these in and then you can kinda see all the other questions that you're going
answer too. So am I a year 12 student in Australia? Yep. Have you ever enrolled in any of the
following? No. Next. Click Ok.
This is just confirming all of your details from what you'd have if you've either registered
before or just with your TISC number there. So all of this is all fine. So I'll click
Save. And Next.
Here this is again just more personal information. So you can just kinda see what you've either
done if you've registered or if you want to update it again. So that's all that.
Now this is the most important screen in the whole TISC application process. This is where
you actually pick all of your courses in the order of your preference - what you most want
to study. So you can see you've got between 1 to 6 preferences and you can pick up to
6 preferences. Add a Preference simply click Add Preference, click on the magnifying glass.
You can see there Course Search and then you can really do it by either University that
you know you want to attend. You can do it by all the campuses because they have different
campuses. You can see different methods of study. If you have the TISC guidebook you
can find the actual TISC course code for what you want to do because there's quite a lot
of courses so it just saves you a bit of time. But if you don't then you can just do the
search kind of function here.
So say I know I want to go to Curtin and maybe I want to study - Engineering you can just
do that and type quick search and you'll see that there's a whole lot of courses there
that you can really do. So this is the one I want here - Engineering. What you can do
is click on the name of the course and that goes through to the Course Page where you
can see a bit of an outline. You can see some of the majors that you get in that course
there. You can see the Indicative ATAR which is really important, as well as the pre-requisites.
So that's just a bit more information for you for the course. We'll go back to the actual
area here, where we've got the search results. You can go - yep, I'm happy doing this course
so what you do - is you can see the TISC code there, you can see that its through Curtin,
you can see it's the Bentley campus. Which is really good. You can see the method of
study too - so you can see either full time or part time. That's what those stand for.
Which you can see there. So really we know I want to do this course and at Curtin and
Bentley campus so you click on Transfer. Then you click on Ok to Transfer this as one of
your Preferences.
So you see that there you've got Engineering so that's what I want there. Which is great.
What you can do, you can also either remove Preferences or re-order them. So this is really
just making sure it's in the right order - so that the course that you most want to study
is up the top - followed in your order of Preferences. So the second course you most
want to study and so on. So if I want to do Engineering say as my first Preference you
click that, then you move it up and make sure you hit Save - that's really important. Cause
this will save everything now that you can see. That Engineering is my first Preference.
I've got Curtin Commerce as my second and the last ones the UniReady Enabling Program.
Which is really good cause it just minimises my risk.
So we'll move on from this stage but just be sure you can do up to 6 Preferences there.
So here this is choosing your method of study. This section give you the option to be able
to choose if you want to study full time, part time or if a course is offered by the
University you can do it externally as well. So for the sake of this video most of you
will do full time, so I'll put that in. And the UniReady Enabling Program is only offered
externally - so that's through online. So I'll put that in.

Year 12 student enrolled in WACE courses, most of you will be. So if you're doing exams
this year then if you haven't done them before 20-12, so no. Click Next.
Are you enrolled or have you been enrolled in any of the following? So I'm not a VET
student so that'd be no. But obviously if you are a VET student that's the one you need
to click. Click Ok.
Tertiary studies. Are you enrolled or have you been enrolled in any of the following.
So this is if you're doing anything with TAFE or any kind of post-graduate study or things
like that. We're not. Cause we're going as undergraduate students so we'll click no and
go Next.
So again, as we're a high school student we haven't got any post-secondary or professional
studies. So we'll go no on that as well.
Because we're current high school students we're not actually doing anything with the
STAT test or attempting it. So we would do no. But obviously for some people who are
sitting the STAT test thats when you'd do the yes feature. Tell it when you're doing
it, what month, location and things like that. So you can fill in that information. But for
the sake of this video - we're not, so we'll put it to no.
Personal Statements. So this is really only required from Curtin for the Enabling course
and Science, Engineering and Health.
So you'd follow these steps here. So you can actually access the template for what they
provide you with. Its way down the bottom here - you click on Curtin, Perth city. Personal
Statement is required. And then you can get the template through here. There you go, you've
got it there. And then you can type in or print it out and fill it in. So its just a
bit easier to help you.
So we'll go back to where we were. The Personal Statement bit. And now you can see there's
Murdoch ones as well. So we'll click Next.
[silence]
Now we don't have any credits, cause we haven't studied at other Universities and things like
that before. So this will be no because we're acting as a school leaver in this case.
So click Next.
Now this is, well this is I think, literally it's the final step before you have to pay.
So you can read all your details again. You can always log in again and update your Course
Preferences later on. So its really just saying is this information is correct. Tick that,
hit Save and go Next.
So I've successfully updated my Application Declaration which is really good. So we'll
go Next. And then basically you have to pay and that's it. So it's quite easy, it's just
really following the steps and taking your time with what you're being asked. So just
make sure you just provide all the correct information. Once you've paid everything you
can always log back into TISC with your user ID Number and then you can update your Preferences
as many times as you want.
So hopefully this helps you out, and thanks for watching.
