Area Formulas, a la Shmoop. Good evening. . .
. . . I'm just making a batch of some of my favorite formulas.
It's so hard to pick a favorite, but I am kind of partial to this one.
Such a simple shape and such a simple formula . . . pi times radius squared...
. . . hard to go wrong with such a classic. I have to admit, that pi does come in handy.
. .
. . . and the recipe just wouldn't be the same without it.
Then again, I've always loved this one. The clean lines and depth of flavor make this
little fella a real stand-out. . .
. . .and often makes an appearance when I'm entertaining.
Come to think of it. . .
. . . the rest of the guys are pretty fond of just about anything with three sides.
Hey, calm down . . .
. . . I'll get to you in a minute! I only have two hands!
But I never would forget about you. . .
. . . how can I? I'd be lost without you. I mean, when I buy paint for the lab. . .
. . . or order carpet for my bedroom. . .
. . . or even when I root for my favorite team. . .
. . . I'm reminded just how important you are.
Oh, I'm sorry. I haven't forgotten about either of you.
Where should I begin?
Well, you are a little more complex than the others.
One has to work a little harder to figure you out. . .
. . . but once your formula is mastered, the sky's the limit.
Glad to know who rates around here! Relax, I was just getting to you.
Did you ever think that maybe I was saving the best for last?
Oh, Polygon. . .
. . . a multi-faceted individual with many sides.
Oh, my babies. I couldn't possibly pick a favorite.
It would be like asking Lady Gaga to pick her favorite song.
I'd rather be caught wearing a meat dress than be without any of you.
