Kate: I think how you hydrate is the Number 1 decision you make when it comes to your
health. Hydration is one of those few pieces in the nutrition puzzle that has immediate
benefits that you start to feel immediately, especially if you're dehydrated. A lot of
people think that time management is their most valuable asset and thing they should
spend most of their time focusing on. Actually, your personal energy is your most valuable
asset, both the quantity of that energy and the quality of that energy. Hydration is at
the core of your own personal energy puzzle.
Matt: I would suggest on hydration, I think about 2 factors: The first is a more general
one, of being able to easily maintain and improve your energy, and therefore, easily
enhance your performance. Secondly, for me specifically when I think about hydration,
I think about elevating blood volume, which is really the key to preventing fatigue in
many ways.
Doug: When we're working with athletes, soldiers, and laborers, hydration is one of the key
modifiable factors that they can make changes in that will keep them safe and allow them
to perform at their best. There's not too many things an athlete has complete control
over that they can enhance and do better that will help them. Hydration is one of those
things they have complete control over.
