Hi everyone. This is Slingshot Racing, and it's a
slightly different twist on a racing game. The idea is, that around each of the
points on the course
are these slingshot markers and you have to press and hold at the right time to
slingshot yourself, as you see I tether up and release, and you have to slingshot yourself
round your opponents, time it well, you take the corner perfectly, time it badly, and you crash
into the side.
The game takes a little bit of getting used to but once you do, wow, is this some fun!
It's really nice to have something that's more racing game but tap based, as opposed to
the kind of like usual thing like accelerometer and so on. Really, really clever game.
The devs have put quite a bit of work and thought
into how they're going to present this game mechanically, it works beautifully.
Really, really interesting. The game's on the Google Play Store
now for a
couple of quid
and it's certainly well worth every penny. This one's a cracker.
Shame I finished in fourth!
The general plan
of the game is just really nicely done. I love the concept with it, it
reminds me of the similar kind of games to that air traffic control game when
you have to draw lines to bring your aeroplanes home but in this case you're
using timing and physics of the game engine to try, obviously, to win.
Ooh, I think it's going to get a bit more complicated now.
You can see you've got to now
time each of these to keep yourself on the track, the perfect spot, slingshotting yourself again as
much
speed as possible to each turn.
If you end up on the outside you're going to go slower,
fire yourself into the inside, it's fine, but you can crash into the inside line.
Very very tricky game
but I think it is one where it's difficult to master but once you do
wow!
Ooh!
The 3D graphics are just gorgeous, really make
fast gameplay on this look even better.
Difficult to know what more to say about Slingshot Racing other than that it's
racing with slingshots.
It works beautifully.
