We order the Minister of Fine Arts
to charge the greatest artists, the greatest painters of our nation
with painting pubblic gardens and roads, squares and paths,
stations, airports and seaports,
so that every tourist walkin’ by could notice them.
Destroy every bad, sad and tasteless image
in order to substitute them with pleasant ones,
showing a flourishing, developed and most of all free society.
We order the Minister of Industry and Construction
to charge engineers and experts
with building pharaonic sized architectural works,
so that could be seen from long distance, even from the moon
and so that citizens would distract attention from the problems of the country.
Jerry-build them, in order to build’em again
and create new jobs.
We order the Minister of Education
to substitute any obsolete and unproductive way of teaching.
Fire all the redundant workers belonging to an ineffective teaching staff
in order to substitute it with television,
the only symbol of coherence
and moral integrity
And we order the minister of agriculture
to issue a decree which estabilishes
the exposition of the best crop produced and imported.
Don’t let anybody buy or sell.
Satisfy the sight
in order to forget injustice and oppressions.
We order the Minister of Censorship
to forbid the writing,
to forbid talking and thinking,
to forbid any debate
standing out against the ministers democratically elected by people,
in order to cut off the malicious tongues
and to choke off any kind of music,
which sounds disharmonious in the Palace.
And consequently
we order the army only one thing:
open fire
on words.
Demagogy: Open fire on words
