Rich: We had an idea to try and unite the class of '93 with the
class of '13, being a twenty year reunion,
and we felt like it was an opportunity to get folks involved and to actually
raise a little money. Derek: We are, as graduates of '93,
reaching out as the twentieth year reunion of our class.
Ellie: In twenty years I'm going to be…
Maisey: In twenty years, I hope to be a music publicist...
no a pub…wait...
Ellie:…in a…
Kelli: In twenty years
I hope to be waking up to a job that I actually love doing.
Ellie: I see myself as
a very successful businesswoman.
An: In twenty years, hopefully I will be back at this university as a counselor,
that is my ultimate goal. I've set that goal since my freshman year. Maisey: I got helped out
a lot throughout college and I think that giving someone else and opportunity when
you've been able to graduate with a degree and
go forward and makes some really good money doing what you love then I think giving that
back is something
that I would like to be able to do. Ellie: One of the components of
senior class board is the Senior Class Campaign.
Our goals this year are
fifty-five hundred dollars, that's monetary, coming from
anyone
who wants to donate.
And then, specifically for senior participation, we have
thirty percent.
Rich: If a bunch of college kids can get together and contribute toward the education
of others,
surely twenty years later we can pony up and at least meet that expectation.
An: For the class of '93 to give back to the university and to help the
new generation of students
come through, to get to where they are, to get to where, hopefully, where the class of
'93 is,
would be perfect, and would be much appreciated from these future students.
Kelli: In my circumstance I do think it's important to give back to university
because they've given so much to me.
Derek: Any Alum of this university has to realize one thing,
and that is:
The value of your degree is not static,
the value of the your degree goes up-and-down as the value of, or perceived
value of your educational institution goes up or down. So anything that I can
do, personally, to help increase the value of today's educational experience increases
the value of my diploma and the value of the education that I got. Rich: You can give
to a department the made an impression on you, you can give to an athletics program that
you're fond of, or you can give to the university at large.
Anything helps
and we really look forward to hearing from you.
Derek: I'm asking my friends and alums of nineteen ninety-three to go online at
UNCA.edu/makeAGift
and make a gift today.
