Now if you felt the need to expand you want to make sure you are expanding for the right
reason. If you have more plants you would like to add, if you have a section of your
garden that looks like it could be a little bit larger or in this particular little spot
as you can see I have one shrub which has really got very large. We have a couple of
nice little stones here and then of course we have this little hens and chick so what
I would do maybe next year or maybe in the fall is I will take my shovel and again start
the edging process. Where I would put it in and just dig out and take the grass aside
and probably I can go around here all the way around and dig that 8 inches around. I
can make a larger round spot or if I decided to come out I can actually come this way dig
this grass out and come back this way and in this dirt area here I could put in another
nice little flat plant which might actually add on to the stone and the hens and chickens
and make it a rather attractive center piece. Cause this is the center of this second garden
with taller flowers all the way around it. So what you want to do is keep the design
of both gardens in mind if in fact if you would like to expand a smaller garden to add
a little more to it.
