We must always maintain
a kind of divine
discontent, until the good societies realize
people walk around, like this is all somethin'
we're ***' laughin'
nobody takes even one second to think about what's really going on
They have no future (laughter)
Have you pictured what this planet is going to be like in 40 to 50 years?
It's going to be a big smoking ball of *** (laughter)
A big smoking, flaming, stinking ball of gaseous *** (laughter)
That's what's going to happen, that's what's going to happen! (laughter)
Open your eyes
(radio) organizing protests
and demanding change to the economic and political system in America
Now, over the weekend, police across the country swept through many of those camps, evicting protesters
tearing down encampments, and removing protesters one by one.
I hope to get mainstream America involved
realizing that we're all victims of corporate America
and that corporate America has got to be stopped
The system isn't working for the one percent, either
you know, if you were a CEO, you'd be making the same choices they do
The institutions have their own logic
Life is pretty bleak at the top, too
And all of the baubles of the rich
they're kind of this phony compensation
for the loss of what's really important:
The loss of community. The loss of connection. The loss of intimacy. The loss of meaning.
Everybody wants to live a life of meaning
Well, I don't know what will happen now
We've got some difficult days ahead
but somewhere I read
of the freedom of assembly.
Somewhere I read
of the freedom of speech.
Somewhere I read
of the freedom of press.
Somewhere I read
that the greatness of America is the right to protest for rights!
(phone ringing)
I know you're out there.
I can feel you now.
I know that you're afraid.
You're afraid of us.
You're afraid of change.
I don't know the future
I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end.
I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.
I'm going to hang up this phone
and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see.
I'm going to show them a world
without you.
A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries
a world where anything is possible.
Where we go from there, is a choice I leave to you
