Dance is everything to me.
It absolutely changed my life.
I was going through quite a different time.
And a lot of people know that I was abused in my first
marriage, and dancing saved me.
Had I not found something that I could express the pain and
everything that I was going through, I'm not so sure I
would have made it out of that.
It gave me my self-confidence back.
It gave me a sensuality back.
It was a deal and a life changer for me.
A lot of us, we lived out of our suitcases, dancing around
the world, whether we were making money or not.
Of course, you hope you can make a living at it because
you don't want to stop something that you do.
But to be honest with you, most dancers have to carry on
one or two other jobs and dance as much as they can in
the off time.
It's a very lucky dancer that get full scholarships, to be
honest with you, and has somebody that takes
them under your wing.
If you're that lucky person that somebody sees that
spark-- we have an after school program.
And we see kids in that after school program that we picked
and gives scholarships to.
The passion that we bring to the table-- the one great
thing about dancers, I mean, I wish there was a lot of money
involved for us.
But the fact of matter, there's not.
We dance because we feel compelled to dance.
And I think there's a huge difference between dancers and
singers in that way.
