Hello again,
I am now in the meeting room
instead of my dorm so that
I can respect my friends and their study plans.
and for this reason I am here to tell you my secrets of productivity.
As you already know, I am just a first-year student,
and for that reason it is a little funny that I am here
telling you all my "advice," but here I am.
I have survived a very busy semester,
and because of that I have learned a bit.
This past semester, I have done a lot.
I started a YouTube channel,
I write for a newspaper at my university, and also for various blogs on the Internet.
And I really do all my homework.
And I also have gotten to know London. I walk everywhere, and I have seen almost everything.
The list is long, but the point is that
for someone like me who loves to procrastinate,
I have done a lot and have been more or less productive.
Because of that some of my friends here have asked me how I do it.
And today I want to give you my advice about how to survive university and be a productive person.
One: the most important.
Caffeine.
Drink it. Drink it a lot. A lot.
And normally I would have coffee or tea instead of Coca-Cola,
but I like seventy pence more than four pounds, no?
Two: get dressed when you get up in the morning.
You work in clothes, you sleep in pajamas.
This is the rule of the universe.
Because of that, I beg you, get dressed.
It is the most difficult thing you will do all day, but if you do it, you will be productive.
I promise you.
You have to do it, but I promise you.
Trust me. Get dressed.
Three: Wunderlist and Google Calendar. Google "Calendario." Google "Calendario."
They are God's gifts to you personally to be an organized and productive person, and…
Wunderlist and Google Calendar. "Calendario," sorry.
Please. Use them. I promise you.
Four: Walk everywhere. Seriously, this is the key.
I walk instead of taking the bus or the train or the subway.
This functions as three things.
First, it's my exercise and it's free
and it forms part of my day in a way the gym doesn't.
Second, I see the whole city.
I know the city intimately.
Because of this I don't have to be a "tourist"
or schedule special excursions on my weekends or whatever
because tourism forms part of my day and my daily life and this functions to save me time.
Third, when I know how much time it will take me to get to my destination,
I will be more productive during my time at home because I know I will have less.
Five - and this is very important: care for your soul.
For me, yes, this includes going to church, using Sunday to relax, praying, et cetera.
But you also have to include this spiritual part in your life.
You have to leave time to relax and breathe.
I like to listen to music as I go about London.
I like to have lunch in the park rather than in my dorm.
I like to watch an episode of TV before I fall asleep.
I like to try to read things that aren't for school.
Ah, yes! I have Harry Potter in Spanish!
"The boy who lived"!
I'm just saying, can we talk about this insertion?
I mean, Ramón Llull! Ramón Llull!
I don't know how to say it, but. Ramón.
Ramón in Harry Potter. Ramón in Harry Potter.
That is all.
Okay, my point is: to be productive, you have to be healthy,
and this includes relaxing, but also working.
So, to conclude:
1. Drink caffeine.
2. Get dressed when you get up in the morning.
3. Use Google Calendar and Wunderlist.
4. Walk.
5. Care for your soul
This is good advice, I hope.
Tell me in the comments: what do you do to be productive?
Thanks for listening.
