Hi. I am Dr. T. K. Roy. I am speaking on behalf of Expert Village. The brooder may be of different
materials. IT may be made of wood. It may be made of GI sheet. It may run on kerosene
even, electricity and gas so the main idea is to put the chicks under the brooder to
keep them warm as the mother hen needs to do after hatching its baby's. We have a very
specific area for keeping how many chicks in how many areas. For a brooder having 3
square feet of area may accommodate about 101 day a old chicks for about 7 to10 days.
After that when the chicks grow up then you have to increase the area also. Otherwise
they're in good condition. Now the end of a hot streak the temperature under the brooder
remains to be 950 F. Because there has to 1020F in the incubator machine but now gradually
there temperature is being adjusted to room temperature by lowering down to 50 every week.
Until they obtain room temperature. In winter months they are kept under that brooder for
about four weeks and in summer months for about two weeks. 10 days to two weeks because
in winter room temperature remains very low and in summer months summer room temperature
is very high. Thank you very much.
