Hi everybody this is Adrian Hogg here at the Focusrite | Novation booth at NAMM
2012 speaking to the guys from Costaq. This is the Focusrite Control
2802 Console.
So this is a brand new
analogue mixing console
it's a Summing Mixer. You've got
exceptionally high-quality microphone preamps but it's also using something called Dual Layer
technology
a fantastic HUI control for
applications such as Protools, Cubase, Nuendo.
So quick run through the console you've got
eight
very high band-width, very high-quality class-A mic pres,
you've got superb
routing options here through the channel strip
you've got the Dual Layer Mixing Console section which works both in the analog
layer
and the digital layer as well.
You've got the summing imputs over here, we also have a fantastic monitor section.
There's a VCA bus compressor which works on the main mix bus,
which you can use to do parallel wet and dry compression
you can also route externally at the push of a button and add a patch into any of the
channel throughout the system.
Over here we've got the control section which is what gives you access to a lot of the
functions which people find useful for
for instance the ability in Protools to switch between screens,
bring up different areas of the DAW
I can also do things like
change the automation modes, record automation directly from the
console and basically take my hands away from the mouse and keyboard and mix
more using the console
