Hi! I'm Christine from So Domestically Challenged. Today, we're going to be reorganizing the
band aid section of our medicine cabinet with an organizer that I found at The Container
Store.
The Interdesign Med Organizer! It's available for $5.99 at the Container Store.
In the pictures on the packaging, it's used to sort more like q-tips and tweezers and
thermometers and first aid-y things. What we're going to use it for today is to clean
up the kid's band aid section here and then with the extra space, we'll add in some other
little first aid-y kind of things.
Currently, I've had this box of band aids. This was a cologne box from Calvin Klein several
years ago. And it fits great in our cupboards, so I've been using it for band aids. Since
this is the kid's cupboard, it's got character band aids. Well, what's happening is somebody
will need a band aid and I'll open up a box and I might only have small ones and I need
the full sized ones or vise versa: I just have the full sized ones and I need the small
ones.
We go through like a dozen boxes before we find the right size that we need. It's not
a huge problem, but when your kiddo is screaming because they can see a little scratch it's
a problem that I would really rather not have.
So I found this organizer at The Container Store and I thought that the little bins on
it look to be a pretty good size to instead of dividing these up by character, divide
them up by size of the band aid and sort of put them in here and then there will be some
extra spaces left over for other things. So we're going to try that.
So here we are! As you can see, I've got the big band aids here, the itty bitty ones here,
and the kind of medium sized ones over here. They don't get used as much for some reason,
maybe because before today, I didn't realize that we had 2 different sizes.
Now we can see when we're starting to run out and make sure that we always have them
available. It's also going to be nice and quick to grab one when the kids need it. And
best of all, it takes up a lot less space than our old organizer.
Now it's got these extra spaces, so we're going to start filling these in. I've been
holding first aid creams and ointments in this little basket from The Dollar Spot at
Target. And it's worked out fine, but since we have the space on the new organizer, I'm
going to add these to that.
Okay, so I added our Neosporin Wound Wash, some hydrocortisone cream, and some Neosporin
kind of first aid cream. And as you can see, it all fits in there really nicely. I'm going
to just add our little container of liquid bandage and this little organizer is done!
Now we just put it back in there and enjoy the extra space and I'm sure that some time
soon, we'll be doing a video of re-doing this cupboard because now we have all this space.
I've got to do something with it.
