So who won E3 2016? If you watched E3 you probably formed your
own opinion on who won. I personally enjoyed all of the conferences
from EA, Bethesda, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Sony and Nintendo.
In this video I am here to present data gathered from brandwatch, which is a useful web-tool
that helps businesses and enterprises know what their customers think in any particular
event. With resources and tools available one can simple gather any sort of information
they like using keywords in algorithms. I am not sponsored by brandwatch, (but if
you are watching me brandwatch my PayPal is down below) I only intend to use their data
gathered from E3 2016 to share with you guys. With what I am about to present, I will need
your help with this question. Who do you think won E3 this year in your opinion?
To start off, it is impossible to gather information on the first day of who won it all based on
social media attention and mentions. Which is why brandwatch laid out this chart.
Over the last three days of E3, these are the total amounts of mentions on the major
press conferences. Microsoft over here was number one due to
the total amounts of mentions throughout their press conference. Reaching over 10,000 mentions
at one point (which doesnt sound like a lot, but remember that this number comes from
the amount of people who were talking about the conference and not about the games). It
has been revealed that this peak was created with the announcement of the Xbox One S. Both
Sony and Nintendo did not reveal a new console, or an innovated version of their current consoles
which is why they didnt peak as high as Microsoft.
Back to the press conference chart, Ubisoft with 7.5 thousand mentions at their peak,
Sony with seven thousand, and so on. Nintendo though, apparently did the worst
when it came down to social media. No one was really mentioning anything about their
press conference. I can agree with this information because I had no clue on what was going to
be presented on Nintendos side other than the Legend of Zelda.
But despite Nintendo falling short in their press conference, that does not really matter
to them because the Legend of Zelda breath of the wild in fact was the most talked about
game in social media throughout E3 Nintendo did focus majority of their conference
on Legend of Zelda breath of the wild (Heck their entire convention booth was LOZ themed)
which helped it to become the most talked about game of E3. Nintendo did spend more
than eight hours covering the game which in turn help grew its popularity even more.
Battlefield 1 was another great title which was mentioned a lot, God of war, watch dogs
2, and even more Minecraft being in the middle of the list,
but lets face it, 10 year olds probably were not watching E3 to be capable of sharing
the coverage. So, with this information now available to
you, I would love to hear, in your opinion, who do you think won e3 this year. (Based
on your favorite reveal, or who you felt did powerful this year)
Let me know in the comments below of what you think, and also if you can, let me know
what game you are excited for, I would love to hear you out. Thanks for watching everyone,
enjoy the rest of your summer.
