Over all these years of making bait 30 years now
We don't just look at flavours flavours and taste
We look at colours and how these colours work with the other ingredients
Always with anything whether its flavour or the size of a bait
something is going to come out top
At the moment over the last two or three years field-testing purple has come out top
We have done really well on the black but when we started putting black against purple we have seen fish picking out purple in amongst black baits
All pigment and all dyes will have an influence on the flavour and the taste
The black did and the purple has
They work completely differently to each other
The purple is dulling down the Scopex and the creams so you are getting more of the fruit and the fish coming through
So the purple works differently to how yellow would or a water soluble dye would or any other kind of pigment would do
Blending colours and flavours together has always worked I would use all three of the Monster Squids together
It will definitely catch you more fish than just sticking with one
One day black might interest a fish more than a brighter colour and vice-versa
We don't like the same thing all the time and are attracted to different things each day each hour and each minute even so give the fish that option
Basically the Monster Squid Purple is very similar to the Monster Squid Red
So its a Scopex flavour which has been going for thirty-odd years and is always going to catch fish
The Shellfish Sense Appeal again has always been a good flavour and both of those flavours are instantly recognised by fish that have never seen a boilie before
and they are so complex that they are never going to be sussed you know some flavours are just too simple whereas these flavours are very complex
Then we bring in the Banana Oil Palatant
Many years ago we developed the Oil Palatants and they made a massive difference to catches
So we now have three awesome additives
Then bring in the Liver Oil Palatant which many years ago when I was using pellets I found I could catch a lot of fish with 200ml for 25kg of pellets with liver oil on it
and very few fish without adding the Liver Oil
So everything has been tested over the years and this is a mental amount of experience going into one bait
We pre-mix the base mixes
That is all the different ingredients the proteins and everything that goes into it
These are all added together in a big mixer and mixed up into a powder and that is the basis of the squid mix
In actual fact it has two different base mixes
The S Mix Squid and the Monster Pursuit and these are blended together 50-50
Then you have to add the liquids
We use a lot of egg we use over two tonne a week at the factory
We put the flavours into that and then we put the dye in at that point before adding the two base mixes
The whole lot is blended together and we can do about 200 kilos in one hit
Then it goes through the boiling machine and basically comes out of the other end as round cooked boilies
Then we have to dry them
The frozen bait we dry overnight
The shelf life bait because we don't actually use preservatives we have to take as much water out as possible so we dry them for two days
It just works with our system that frozen baits are dried overnight and shelf lives for two days
so it gets that water out and gives you a shelf life boilie which if you were to add water too it would actually go off
So there are no mould killers and preservatives in there that are detrimental to the bait
A massive combination of thirty years of experience and testing and analysis has all come together into one bait
It is the pinnacle of the Squid-type mixes
Tested with success...
...after success
...after success
Look at this
This is what proper carp are
Isn't it beautiful
What a beast it is
