Hello and welcome to Cupcake Addiction's Cute Marshmallow Snowman Tutorial where I'll be
showing you how to make this very cute and very festive marshmallow snowman.
I'll be showing you how to use this snowman in 3 ways: as marshmallow treat; as a marshmallow
pop; and also how to pop him on top of a cupcake to make a snowman marshmallow cupcake.
Let's get started. Tools and equipment that we will be using
today: I have my polystyrene block which I always
use for popping those lollipop sticks into while they're drying.
I have some standard lollipop sticks. I have an edible marker. It's exactly the
same as a regular marker except it's completely non-toxic edible ink.
I have some edible glitter. Once again the same as the marker, completely the same as
a regular glitter but it's non-toxic and fully edible.
I have some standard kitchen scissors. I have some X-treme Sour Straps in red because
I think red's a little bit festive. You don't have to have Sour Straps. These are basically
just a long, flat strip of candy. I have a just a standard cupcake. I've gone
with chocolate. I have some buttercream frosting which I've
tinted blue. We're going to use that for the cupcake today. If you are having trouble with
the consistency of your buttercream frosting, we do have tutorial, our perfectly pipeable
buttercream frosting tutorial which will show you how to get it to that lovely (Inaudible
01:30) and spoon-able consistency. I have some melted white chocolate. You don't
need very much for this tutorial. I have some rainbow chocolate drops. These
are available in supermarkets. If you can't find a rainbow chocolate drop, you can use
some rolled orange fondant or some orange [tuffy]. Basically, what we want is this cute
little cone-shaped orange pieces. The rainbow drops are perfect for this but we're just
going to use them for the nose of the snowman. I also have some fruit tingle lollies or some
round flat candies. I have some marshmallows in a couple of different
sizes. I have my large marshmallows and then my regular-sized marshmallows. I also have
some little tiny baking marshmallows. And I've got a few [tubes]. You don't need both
of these. You can either use the tubes or the baking marshmallows.
So to get started, I'm going to take 2 of my large marshmallows. These are the largest
ones that I can find in the supermarket. And I'm going to snip the tops of them with my
kitchen scissors. Just snip away that little peak (Inaudible 02:37) little bit of a flat
working surface. Now we're going to take 2 of our regular-sized
marshmallows. And I'm going to dip them into that melted white chocolate. Melted white
chocolate is going to act as a little bit of glue for us today. Once you've [put] a
little bit of white chocolate, just pop that smaller marshmallow on top of the large marshmallow.
And we're going to give that just a few seconds just to set.
While you're waiting for that to set, take your candy sour strip and just tear it in
half. I've find tearing it gives you a neater edge than actually cutting it. Cutting it
seems to [get] a little bit of a jagged edge. That is going to be the scarf of our little
marshmallow man. Now we're going to take this scarf and we're
just going to wrap it around that same way you (Inaudible 03:26) the two marshmallows.
And I'm going to take one of my lollipop sticks and just dip it into our white chocolate glue.
I'm going to pop a little bit on the actual marshmallow to stick that scarf too. And then
I'm going to take another little blob. And I'm just going to pop it on the front of that
scarf. And we're going to wrap the scarf the rest of the way around sticking it on to that
white chocolate glue. Now that's going to set and that'll act as quite a nice little
adhesive so the scarf stays where we want it to. I'll show you that one again. Pop your
drop of melted white chocolate on to the snowman. Take your sour strap, wrap it around attaching
it to that first drop of white chocolate and take another little drop of white chocolate
on the front of the scarf. And we're going to take that another side around to meet up
and stick to, just like a drop of melted white chocolate.
Okay, for the hats, as I mentioned, you can either use tubes or you can use that tiny
little baking marshmallows, personal preference really taste. So I'm going to take one of
our fruit tingle lollies. And I'm going to use this lovely melted white chocolate glue
once again. Just pop a drop on there. And then I'm going to take a pink mini marshmallow
because I've gone with a pinkish-colored fruit tingle. And we're going to sit that on top.
This is the hat. For the second one, I'm going to use tube
just so that you can see the difference between the baking mallows and the tube. Once again,
a drop of melted white chocolate and just sit that tube on top. Let those have about
10 seconds or so for that melted white chocolate to set.
Once you're happy that they're set a little bit, take a bit more of your melted white
chocolate glue. Pop it on top of the marshmallow, the smaller marshmallow, his head, and sit
your hat on top. There you go. Now it's time for the nose. As I mentioned,
these rainbow drops are perfect to (Inaudible 05:33) little carrot or cone shape. I'm going
to take a very very small drop of the white chocolate. Stick it on the back of the rainbow
drop and then use that to glue that nose to the face. Don't use too much of the white
chocolate here because you want that chocolate to be able to set really quickly and you don't
want it to (Inaudible 05:54) around the edges of the little orange nose. Beautiful! Pop
that second one on. Lovely! We'll let that dry.
Last step in our marshmallow snowman, we're going to take our edible marker and we're
just going to draw on a couple of little drops for his eyes, and then a few more little dots
for his [coal] mouth. Now if you are enjoying our tutorials, please
make sure that you head on our channel and have a look at the other videos that we've
got available. If you subscribe, we are able to keep you up to date with all of our latest
uploads. We are uploading every week. We've got great hints and tips for cupcakes, cake
pops, marshmallow pops. Just do that eyes and the mouth on our second
marshmallow snowman. Beautiful! So that's your basic snowman treat. He's ready to go.
You can pop him on a nice little plotter. To turn him in a marshmallow pop, I'm just
going to take one of these lollipop sticks and dip it in to our little bit of our white
chocolate glue over here. And simply insert it up into that bottom marshmallow. Be careful
not to insert it too far because you don't want to knock his head off. That white chocolate
holding his head would've dried by now. Beautiful! So there you have your marshmallow pop. That's
going to take about 10 seconds again for that glue to dry. And you can pop it into your
polystyrene block so that it stays upright. Great for the kids at Christmas, they can
run around with them and eat as they go. Now for our cupcake, I've got my Loyal number
3-34 piping bag which I've prefilled with that blue buttercream frosting. As always,
I make sure that my buttercream frosting is right at the end of my nozzle before I start
piping. And I'm just going to make that lovely low swirl. We do have a whole tutorial dedicated
to that swirl so if you are having trouble with your cupcake swirl, please check that
one out. That will help you...help you get that swirl perfect. I'm going to sprinkle
a little bit of edible glitter on there just to make it look like freshly fallen snow.
Give it a little bit of a shimmer. And then I'm just going to sit our marshmallow man
on top. There you have your marshmallow snowman cupcake,
your marshmallow snowman pop and your marshmallow snowman treat. So there's how to use your
marshmallow snowman in 3 different ways. Thanks for watching!
