There is a very large frustation amongst students
There are the tuition fees, introduced 3 years ago
Now there is the Bologna Process coming on top of it
The average income that students have is 760€
and in a city like Cologne, you have to pay 400€ for a flat
so it's really hard for students to pay the tuition fees
I have now Monday and Tuesday always for University
and the rest of the time, I'm working in the Hostel
You have to pay every semester about 700€
and it's rising every semester
Lots of students have to work even more than they already had to
so they can't concentrate on there studies
Bologna process : 3 years Bachelor, 2 years Master, Credit Points system
Aims to increase the Quality and the Mobility of the studies
The basic ideas of the Bologna Process are not that bad
we should have to compare the studies all over Europe
and there should be some flexibility for students to change
and the mobility should be higher than it is at the moment
but the way they changed the studies is really bad
The workload is much too high
Are companies going to recognise the new diplomas?
The thing is that in Germany, there is no experience with Master and Bachelor
There is no experience, how companies would react if you come with a Master
instead of the Diploma or Magister
I think the Master is better, because it's as long as the Magister
I think it depends on what kind of studies you take
There a lots of initiatives from firms accepting Bachelors
but it's more for economics, business administration and technical studies
but for history, languages or social studies, it's really bad
I think the people that have a Bachelor in these subjects have no perspectives at the moment
because there are no jobs for that and it will take a long time to change
It was the first movement where pupils from schools and students
went together on the streets to tell that there are a lot of mistakes on the educational system
