Today on this 1995 Pontiac Sunfire, were going to be installing the Roadmaster Universal
Wiring Diode Kit product number RM-154. Were going to start off at the front of our Sunfire
here where the tow wire would be attached. We'll take the 30-foot lead of wire that comes
with our kit where we want to find a suitable mounting point for the one end and I'm just
going to tie it off to the actual base plate kit for the time being. There are several
mounting brackets available to go ahead and mount this to the vehicle if you'd like. This
is actually going to connect to the tow vehicle. And it will go ahead and take the rest of
the lead routed all the way underneath the vehicle back to the rear tail lights where
we'll hook into our wires. Now as you route the wire back underneath
the vehicle back to the tail lights we just want to make sure that we avoid any possible
hot spots or pinch points that could potentially damage the wire. Now that we've got our wire
fed all the way back to the rear bumper, were going to go ahead and now and find a route
to take it up into the trunk area where we can access the wires for the tail lights.
If you look here, were actually going to take it up between the opening and between the
body and the bumper here. Once we get up there were going to locate an access point to actually
get inside the trunk. So were up on the top side of the bumper now and again, we need
to get it inside the trunk itself. There's probably enough lead wire where you can--if
you want, you can go ahead and locate an existing grommet on one of the side walls
and go ahead
and feed the wires
into
the trunk.
