We are here at LatemodelRestoration.com with longtime friend james lubbert
he's also a customer and sponsored racer. james tell me a little bit about
your car.
this is a ninety-three 93 mustang GT
road race car
I've had this far for a long time about 14 years. originally
started as a
reef blue
teal color
with a sunroof.
Drove it all senior high school all through college
I has just been a
the long-time partner. You daily drove it. when did you start making the
conversion to road race car?
about 2003-2004
I just starting getting into auto crossing
and that went right into road course
when i lived in Michigan.
I know it started out stock
and progress progress progress until it can't be driven on the street anymore.
What kind of suspension set up do you have. the current suspension setup is a pan hard bar
with torque arm from Maximum Motorsport
and then its go AST coil over shocks and struts all around
with the coil over springs
we are running the SN95 stock control arms and stock k member
the whole intent there was to prove it can be done with a stock set up
Now with all those suspension upgrades i'm sure you did a little bit to the brakes too.
yup obviously the stock brakes weren't going to cut it so I went with 13 inch Cobra front brakes
and 11 inch rear cobra brakes
much improved. i'm sure it is and I bet they do a lot to slow down that hot
little powertrain you have. tell us about that.
We've got a DSS 331 stroker motor
that is roughly a year old and dynoed 330hp & 350 ft/lb torque
to the tire.
that's uh... pretty respectful. I bet it's a handful on the track.
It's a lot of fun.
it's a lot of fun. Especially in a car that is as light at this Fox Body is.
so you got a full cage and race seats.
nothing but a road course car. how long have you been racing this car
in in particular?
I've been open track road coursing probably about six to eight years off and on.
It's a blast.
There is nothing else like it.
There is nothing like going into a turn at speed.
