What's going on guys? I got another hitting drill for you today and this one I call the
catch and crush hitting drill. What we're going to do in this hitting drill is, it's
actually a top hand hitting drill that we're going to work using our top hand on the bat.
So you're going to want to choke up a little bit so that you can handle the bat ok or if
you have a short bat, you could use that as well. But what we're going to do, first of
all, this hitting drill is great for guys who fly open on their front shoulder and their
head flies out or your front shoulder flies out and you're pulling everything out this
way. This is a great drill for those types of hitters to work on staying close. What
we're going to do in this hitting drill is we're going to have a partner at the soft
toss position over here throwing firm balls to us right about here above this ball that's
set on the tee. Then we're going to catch it and keep our arms straight as we hit this
baseball and try to hit a line drive up the middle. If this front arm flies open as we
go to swing, then we know our front shoulder is coming out, we're pulling off and going
out too early. If we can stay closed and hit through this baseball on the tee, then we're
going to be better off. I really like this hitting drill because it keeps our focus down
on the ball. Every once in a while when you get here the ball kind of disappears on you
a little bit and it really makes you keep your head down on that ball and drive through
it. You also want to be aware of your lower body mechanics. You want to work it just the
same way as you would in a swing. Working the legs towards that ball. Body eyes on the
ball and then finishing through without letting this shoulder fly out. So, it's going to look
a little something like this. If you found this video helpful, please subscribe and then
