Well actually, as far as the budget goes, we're probably within $150 a month of our
projected budget, we've allowed it to be there. We know that with a small squeeze,
we can be within budget. And we eat out. Well you should talk about what happened in
the beginning. Well in the beginning when we first arrived,
we stayed at a hotel for five days and ran around looking for places to move into. We
found a spot, a little cottage, actually behind the pub (00:38) and we stayed there for a
week. It was great but no cooking so we were outside eating on the street at restaurants
three meals a day and eventually found a spot, talked with a lot of people and found ourselves
a really nice apartment and it costs us now 1200 baht which is $400 US
12,000. 12,000, 400 US dollars a month. It's a nice
bedroom with a balcony off the bedroom and entry balcony so we get a breeze through,
nice kitchen to cook in and then I think our electrical bill and our water bill came to
another 1800 baht so it's about 60 US dollars. Because we ran the air when it was so hot.
During the season we ran the air conditioner quite a lot and so our budget worked out quite
well. Since we started doing a lot more cooking at home, clearly the way to go although it's
nice to eat on the street, we like that. And so the apartment is great and now the next
decision will be to rent a house because we'd like it.
