Don't put away your hats just yet. It's time to rodeo at Laramie County Community College.
LCCC's annual Shawn Dubie Memorial rodeo has arrived just as our team is peaking.
Both our men's and women's teams have been having a really good semester.
So good that a few members of the LCCC team are even listed in the top-10 national rankings.
NFR quality stock, NFR quality cowboys.
A lot of them already have their professional cards or professional permits
so you're going to see top quality action.
Against quality colleges and universities from around the region,
they're all coming to compete in a rodeo that holds a greater meaning at LCCC.
The proceeds from the rodeo all go to the Shawn Dubie memorial scholarship
and it's a great way for us to carry on the tradition and the things that Shawn did for our program.
Shawn Dubie was a top performing bronc rider for the LCCC rodeo team
who tragically died from a rodeo injury in 1989.
His memory lives on in the scholarships that we give in his name here.
Support the rodeo team. Support the cause. Support the students.
It's just a very exciting time here for rodeo at Laramie County Community College.
I'm Lisa Murphy with this Laramie County Community College Spotlight.
