On your marks.
Get set.
And they're off! These teams are battling to win Great Spitalfields annual Pancake Race
in east London. The teams have already made it through several heats to get to the final
- with each hoping to be this year's champions. After lots of successful pancake tossing,
the winners seem pretty happy with their achievement.
-Very good, very good. -Yeah, very good. Hungry now.
*** after these pancakes.
What are the biggest challenges doing this then?
Not falling over.
-It's not the most impressive pancake you've got left in there. -No, but we had three races
and we've got about a third left, so I think that's quite good.
Yeah, I'll go with that.
Fancy dress was the main order of the day for many participants, but of course 'how
to make the perfect pancake' was top of the agenda.
Baking soda or bicarbonate soda to make them go thick like American pancakes.
Okay coming over here. Your top tips?
I would go for lemon and sugar and roll it up, and that's how my mum used to serve it
when I was younger.
Marvellous and coming over here. Your top tips?
It's all about the toppings. So make sure you have some really nice toppings. Lemon
and sugar. My favourite is peanut butter and banana.
And the day of fun and pancakes was all in aid of London's Air Ambulance. So we'll see
you again here same place next year.
