So now I'm going to do another project that you can do with pinch pots. I've got a little
bit larger piece of clay and I'm going to make a bowl, it's going to be footed and it's
going to have a cracked texture that we're going to get by bringing in the torch. Again,
push your thumb towards your fingers until you've got it to quarter to a half an inch
thickness, and then just go around in a spiral and continue pinching. The bigger piece you're
using, it's going to take a little bit longer, it's also going to require just a little bit
more patience. But just keep going around. And try to keep it even so you have a nice
round bowl.
And I'm not going to finish stretching this out as much as it's going to be in the final
stage at this point. I've left it just a little bit thick, and the reason for that is before
I stretch it out just a little bit more I'm going to torch the outside. And what that's
going to do is it's going to cause the outside to become dry, but the inside is going to
still be wet, so I can push through it and create a cracked texture, and I'm going to
show you that next.
