With small dogs you want to keep in mind their physiology, very delicate little dogs. Rather
than using a collar to walk them, you might want to consider using a harness, that will
protect their trachea from being damaged. I'm Mike Campbell, with Doggy Styles in Beverly
Hills California. I'm here to talk about, how to teach your retail sales people about
your product, how to familiarize them. The first thing that I do when I get a new salesperson
in the store, is, give them a walk through, showing them all of the various different
merchandise. I don't expect them to remember everything, I don't expect them to remember
how everything works, but I want them to have a very general idea of what products we carry,
and where they can be found in the store. It's pretty easy for me, we have a very small
store, it's only 700 square feet, but we do have a lot of merchandise in here, we probably
got better than 2000 skews. So with all of those different types of products, different
sizes, etc., it's important that the people know where the products are. Then it's a matter
of experience, it's letting these people see me with customers, let them see me showing
customers how products work, and they at the same time are learning how those products
work. We have a variety of different types harnesses for instance, they all fit differently,
they work differently, they adjust differently, so it's important for the sales people to
understand how those harnesses work. The easiest way to do that, is to see me with a customer
who's as clueless as the sales person, and show them how to make it work, let the customer
actually do it themselves, so I'm sure that they know how it works, and that way the salesperson
also knows how it works, and can help the next person that comes through the door looking
for that same product. I'm Michael Campbell with, Doggy Styles, in Beverly Hills.
