Welcome to Namak Mirch Masala. Today we're going to show you how to make
SeemeeAhloo which translates to Flat Green Beans and potatoes.
This is an easy vegetarian recipe to make for which you'll need the following ingredients
which you can find a list of on our website through the link down below.
1 lb of flat green beans 4 garlic cloves
An optional lemon or lime 5 potatoes
1 teaspoon of red chili powder • 2 tablespoons of cumin seeds
• 2 dashes of salt or to your taste
• And you're going to need 2 tablespoons of olive or corn oil which isn't shown here.
We're going to start by taking out the stems of the flat green beans.
Then we'll cut them into medium sized pieces. And do that for the rest of the flat green
beans. Then we'll peel the potatoes. And cut them
into medium pieces as well. We're going to take both the cut up flat green
beans and the potatoes and submerge them in water. This way they'll stay fresh for a while
and you can even leave them like this for a while if you don't want to do the actual
cooking until later. Now we're going to cut up our garlic cloves.
Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a frying pan. Add garlic cloves to the frying pan.
You're going to fry these for about 2-3 minutes until they start turning brown like this.
Then you're going to add 2 tablespoons of cumin seeds.
Add the potatoes and the flat green beans. Add 1 teaspoon of red chili powder.
Add salt as you like. Here we used about 2 dashes of salt.
Now you're going to cook for about 305 minutes on high heat with the lid off. This is so
any water from the vegetables gets evaporated. Now you're going to cook for another 20-25
mintues on low heat with the lid on. You can cook longer if needed.
You'll know when it's done by the potatoes. They should be tender and easy to mash with
a fork. If you like, you can sprinkle it all with
lemon or lime juice. And that's it. You can eat with this with
an Indian bread. Hope you enjoyed this recipe. Like us, subscribe
